Mike Colreavy – consultant
After 34 years working in local councils in both New South Wales and the Northern Territory, including 12 years as a council general manager and 19 years as a member of a council executive management team, Mike Colreavy now provides specialist local government management services to local councils. Mike Colreavy – executive experience
Mike was General Manager at three Shire Councils in regional NSW and he was a Corporate Services Director at Councils in NSW and the Northern Territory. He was also concurrently the Chief Executive Officer of a large Regional Library Service. More recently, he has undertaken lengthy locum General Manager and Director engagements at several councils in regional NSW.
Mike's executive experience is supplemented by having performed State, local government and community Board / Committee / Trustee roles. He was the Chair of the NSW ClubGRANTS Fund Committee, a Trustee of the NSW Responsible Gambling Fund, a Director and Company Secretary of Hunter Councils Ltd; the Upper Hunter Conservatorium of Music Inc; and the NSW Rail Coal Heritage Centre Inc; and he was a Board member and Chairman of the Cootamundra Health Care Association Inc.
Mike Colreavy – qualifications
Mike also has many years of academic study behind him. He holds a Masters Degree in Environmental & Local Government Law (Macquarie University), a Bachelor of Legal Studies (Macquarie University), and a Bachelor of Business Studies (Charles Sturt University). He also holds an Associate Diploma in Local Government Administration and was a visiting lecturer in local government administration, law and finance courses at Mitchell College of Advanced Education's Centre for Local Government where he wrote course materials and examination papers, and delivered lectures and tutorials to students in courses leading to qualifications in local government management and town planning.
